North Campus vice-president administration and campus life candidates express their goals for their desired positions.

Praveen Pirati, 22, third-year business administration student, said he wants to be an HSF executive to make a difference for students.

“My number one priority is letting students know what benefits are available to them,” said the vice-president administration candidate.

One of the benefits Pirati wants to emphasize is the chance for a fair appeal with academic grievances.

Amanda Connolly, 20, third-year media studies public relations student at Guelph-Humber wants students to know about HSF and what happens with food services.

Connolly said she wants to “try and organize an online database so  people can see what’s in the caf. that day.”
She said students should be able to see online where they are spending  food money to better budget and to make sure they are not over-charged.

Iqbaljot Singh Bhambra, 22, another candidate for vice-president administration, wants more accessibility outside school walls.

“I want to improve parking, make it more available and maybe cheaper,” he said.

Too many people have to pay on a daily basis to park, Bhambra said, which is unfair and expensive for students.
Students want to be involved in campus events but often cannot participate because of their schedules, said Aynur Duzgeren, 20, a candidate for vice-president campus life.

The third-year justice administration student said she wants to solve this problem by having “something going on throughout the school year.  A frosh week every week.”

While Trishann Fuller, 20, a business management student running for vice-president campus life feels the job’s salary is not bad, making sure that students are satisfied with campus events is her priority.

Fuller said that she wants to host “events that would cater to the diversity on campus.”

Candidates who did not respond to interview requests by press time are Prabhpreet Singh, a vice-president campus life candidate, and Tamika Jarett, a candidate for vice-president administration.
